Coach Jaysi joined Chicago City SC one year ago after being introduced to the club by Eóin Broughan, a former college teammate from Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Eóin connected her with Craig and Nick, who shared Chicago City's mission of providing access to the sport for the Chicagoland community while developing the whole person.
Reflecting on her first year with the club, Coach Jaysi says what she enjoys most is Chicago City's "investment in both player and staff care".
Coach Jaysi has shown incredible hunger, professionalism and commitment throughout her first year. Her passion for introducing young players to the game—and helping them develop a lifelong love of soccer—quickly stood out, leading us to entrust her with the leadership of our Mini CITY program.
Over the past year, she has created a fun, engaging and player-centred environment for hundreds of young players, making a lasting impact on families taking their very first steps into the game.
As a result of her outstanding work, we're delighted to announce Jaysi's promotion to Girls 7v7 Phase Lead. Alongside this new leadership role, she will continue overseeing Mini CITY while also leading the launch of Rec CITY, our new recreational program designed to provide an affordable, flexible and accessible pathway into soccer for even more children across our community.
Rec CITY represents another important step in our mission to remove barriers to participation by creating more opportunities for children to experience the game, regardless of their financial circumstances or time commitment.
Jaysi has been a breath of fresh air for our organization. Her enthusiasm, work ethic and willingness to embrace every opportunity embody the values we strive for at Chicago City, and we couldn't be prouder of everything she has achieved in such a short space of time.
Fun Fact: Coach Jaysi has completed two marathons and will be running her third at the 2026 Chicago Marathon in support of the charity Girls in the Game.
